ANEW Hotel Ocean Reef is looking for a dedicated Sculler to support our culinary team by ensuring our kitchen remains clean, organised, and fully equipped to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

As a Sculler, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining the cleanliness of dishes, utensils, equipment, and work areas while adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards. Your contribution will help ensure our chefs can focus on delivering outstanding meals to our guests.

Successful Candidate will be based at KwaZulu-Natal, Zinkwazi.

Role Purpose: To ensure all public areas are cleaned in a consistent and professional manner, creating results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash and sanitize all dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.

• Operate and maintain the dishwashing machine in accordance with hygiene and safety standards.

• Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, sanitised, and stored correctly after use.

• Keep all kitchen workstations, preparation areas, and storage areas clean and hygienic.

• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors and ensure spillages are cleaned immediately.

• Remove kitchen waste, separate recyclables where applicable, and dispose of refuse in accordance with company procedures.

• Clean and sanitise waste bins regularly.

• Assist with receiving and unpacking stock when required.

• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager (e.g., washing vegetables, peeling, portioning ingredients).

• Replenish cleaning chemicals, dishwashing detergents, and other consumables.

• Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, or health and safety hazards to the Kitchen Manager immediately.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.

• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and safe working practices.

• Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

• Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.

• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Kitchen Manager
