ANEW Hotel Ocean Reef is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our hotel team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for all guests.

The successful candidate will be based in KwaZulu-Natal, Zinkwazi.

Role Purpose: To ensure all public areas are cleaned in a consistent and professional manner, creating results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

FINANCE:

• Ensure all operating stock is used economically, inline with company brand standards.

• Ensure all operating equipment is handled carefully, paying attention to possible losses with guests.

• Ensure economical use of heat, light and water at all times.

CUSTOMER:

• Greet customers politely as they enter the room, project a hospitable, polite, friendly, warm and smiling attitude to all employees and customers.

• Introduce self to customers

PROCESS:

• Ensure, compliance to Standard Operating Procedures for all areas of the Housekeeping Department.

• Have eye for detail and aim for quality

• Looks after the operating equipment which is used in the performance of the job.

• Ensures that hotel corridors and walls are not damaged by trolleys and reports any damage immediately to HOD in order to be repaired.

• Ensures trolleys and equipment is correctly stored and secured at all times.

• Cleans stairways, corridors, elevators, public toilets, windows, doors, walls, ceilings, light fittings, floors, toilets, brass work, woodwork, pictures, ornaments and furniture in a manner, which is determined by the Executive Housekeeper/Assistant Housekeeper.

• Vacuums, function rooms, corridor and lobby carpets.

• Polishes and dusts fixtures and fittings in corridors.

• Empties and cleans rubbish bins, and ashtrays.

• Reports any damage in public areas to the Executive Housekeeper/ Assistant Housekeeper.

• Reports and hands in all items left in public areas to the Executive Housekeeper/ Assistant Housekeeper who records the items found in the Lost and Found Register.

• Ensures that the whole assigned area is tidy at all times.

• Replaces all guest supplies in the public toilets.

• Looks after the Hotel keys/key cards which are entrusted to them during the performance of the job and returns them to the Executive Housekeeper/ Assistant Housekeeper.

PEOPLE:

• Lead by example to ensure we keep our HITEC culture alive across the portfolio, making a real difference in how we interact with guest and each staff member.

• Ensure that your personal hygiene is always of the highest standard.

• Uniform and personal appearance is to be of the highest standard at all times of all staff.

• Ensure punctuality at all times.

• All private cellular telephones must be kept in your locker or handed in to security or line manager for safekeeping during your working hours. No cellular telephones are to be kept in your pockets or uniform.

• Creates loyalty, trust, happiness and respect amongst the entire Housekeeping team by transparent, consistent, inspirational and motivational interaction style

• Demonstrate exceptional level of professionalism, maturity and emotional intelligence at all times
